The company name was used to be called as Floral City Furniture Company since 1927 until they decided to change their name by having a contest followed by the company’s employee, and the winner for the contest is the one who chose the name la-z-boy. In 1931, z boy recliners have their first patent for the automatic recliner. Besides z boy recliners, the company also provides some other kinds of furniture such as sofas, chairs, sleeper sofas, etc.
